Recipe for 1 batch of traditional play doh:
2 Cups Flour
1 1/2 Cups Salt
3 Tablespoons Cream of Tartar
1 Tablespoon Oil
3 Cups of Water
Mix all ingredients in large saucepan.
(Save food color and scents until the end.)
Heat and stir until the consistency of mashed potatoes.
Pour mixture into mixer with dough attachment blade.
(Can be hand kneaded on a well floured surface.)
Mix and add flour (1-2 cups) until dough pulls away from the sides
and is sticking together in a ball.
Add food coloring until desired color is achieved.
Add scents if desired.
Remove from mixer and hand knead about 1 minute.
Place on wax paper or parchment and let cool.
Store in air tight container.
